"End of the Line" Dead Feminist broadside by Chandler O'Leary and Jessica Spring

End of the Line

Always remember you have within you the strength, the patience and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.
— Harriet Tubman

We created our fifth broadside in honor of the heroic work of Harriet Tubman, who guided nearly 300 people to freedom along the Underground Railroad—through it all, she “never lost a passenger.” Harriet reminded us that for all the ground we’ve gained in our country’s short history, we have a long, long way to go—and the only way we’ll get there is together.

The illustration is inspired by the history and folklore of the Underground Railroad. To symbolize the difficult journey faced by anyone with a great task, the words are a bit of a challenge to read. Follow Harriet Tubman’s lantern as she guides you along your path—and if you get lost, remember to follow the Drinkin’ Gourd.
